The Sunseeker Legacy
Sunseeker began life in 1969 as Poole Power Boats, a small outfit on England's Dorset coast founded by brothers Robert and John Braithwaite. Robert designed fast, aggressively styled powerboats for a Mediterranean clientele, and the company — renamed Sunseeker in 1985 — grew into Britain's largest luxury yacht builder, eventually appearing in four consecutive James Bond films. Robert Braithwaite, who remained the public face of the company for decades, died in 2019.
Ownership changed hands several times: Dalian Wanda Group bought the company in 2013 for roughly £320 million, and in October 2024 the brand was sold again to Miami-based Lionheart Capital and Italy's Orienta Capital Partners, with ex-Ferretti executives stepping into leadership. Production at the Poole shipyards has continued without interruption, and the brand's identity as a British builder remains intact.
Why Sunseeker
Sunseeker builds performance luxury motor yachts — the emphasis is on speed, styling, and presence as much as on comfort. Hulls are deep-V designs tuned for high cruise speeds, and the design language is deliberately dramatic: sweeping lines, large glass areas, and cockpits built for entertaining. Construction is production-line GRP with considerable customization at the upper end, placing the brand alongside Princess, Ferretti, and Azimut in the semi-custom production category.
In the market, Sunseeker commands European premium pricing — above American production builders, roughly comparable to its Italian and British peers. The brand carries genuine cultural cachet: among owners, Sunseekers are social boats, bought as much for the statement they make as for the miles they cover.
Sunseeker's seven ranges overlap in size and mission, so knowing which hull fits your cruising plans is half the battle. Neff Yacht Sales works with used Sunseeker buyers to match the right model line to how you actually plan to run the boat.

South Florida Sunseeker Market
South Florida's offshore passages, Bahamas crossings, and marina social scene are perfectly matched to Sunseeker's performance-and-presence formula. The brand's deep-V hulls and high-cruise speeds make the Bahamas crossing a fast, comfortable run, while the dramatic styling and cockpit entertaining layouts suit South Florida's marina culture.
Neff Yacht Sales is based in Palm Beach County, giving us direct access to the South Florida brokerage market and a strong network of Sunseeker owners and buyers. We help buyers match the right Sunseeker model line to their actual cruising plans — the seven ranges overlap in size and mission, and the right choice depends on how you plan to run the boat.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Predator (55–74 ft) is the low-profile open sports cruiser that defined the brand's image — fast, dramatic, and best appreciated as a fair-weather entertaining boat. The Manhattan (52–68 ft) is the all-round flybridge family cruiser with better all-weather capability and more enclosed living space. The Sport Yacht (65–88 ft) is larger, blending flybridge space with aggressive lines and high-volume layouts. The right choice depends on whether you prioritize performance and style (Predator), all-round versatility (Manhattan), or volume and presence (Sport Yacht).
All three are British premium production builders, but each has a distinct character. Sunseeker is the most performance- and style-oriented, with the strongest Mediterranean cultural cachet and the most dramatic design language. Princess is known for deep-V seakeeping and conservative-elegant styling that ages slowly. Fairline is the most traditional of the three, with a loyal British following and a reputation for quality interiors. For buyers who want the social statement and the Bond factor, Sunseeker is the clear choice.
As of October 2024, Sunseeker is owned by Miami-based Lionheart Capital and Italy's Orienta Capital Partners, with ex-Ferretti executives in leadership. The brand was previously owned by China's Dalian Wanda Group from 2013. Production at the Poole shipyards has continued without interruption through the ownership changes, and the brand's identity as a British builder remains intact.
