The Flicka is one of the most capable small cruisers ever built, with many having completed ocean passages. With their full keel, strong sheer, bluff bow and heavy displacement, it's no surprise to find that they in fact have a workboat heritage--the story really began over 100 years with the workboats sailing out of Newport, Rhode Island. Bound for the Block Island Sound to work the fishery, these vessels had a reputation for being fast, seaworthy and bringing their crews back to port safely--no easy task considering the weather these fishermen faced when they were at sea days on end.

Enter cabin thru three removable washboards, downstairs to teak & holly cabin sole. Enclosed head compartment thru teak door to starboard of stairs, head has large storage cubbyhole aft of marine toilet. To port is quarter berth extending aft under cockpit seats, then galley counter including 2-burner non-pressurized (safe!) alcohol stove, deep SSTL sink with bronze plunger water pump, and top-opening icebox. Settee across from galley, dining table hinges upward for seating on settee and on aft end of forepeak berths. V-berths forward include filler-cushion, have deep bookshelves against hull. Sail-locker thru two opening doors in forepeak is large enough to hold entire sail inventory; chain locker ahead of that!
