JEFFERSON 42 Sundeck

1987 • 41' (12.70 m) • Motor Yacht
United States

$82,500 USD

Jefferson Yachts was founded in 1982 by Leon Shaw. Jefferson imported and marketed a series of Taiwan-built trawlers and motor yachts, all manufactured by Hershine Marine in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The first Jefferson model, the Jefferson 45 Motor Yacht, was introduced in 1982. In 1994, they introduced their own line of center console fishing boats, which they built in Jeffersonville, Indiana. After that, they built a variety of motor yachts, sportfish boats and express cruisers at that location from 30' to 82' until they declared bankruptcy in 2012.

The Jefferson 42 Sundeck was built on the same hull as the Jefferson 42 Convertible. Designed by the noted Naval Architect, Robert B. Harris, the Jefferson 42 Sundeck is recognized as a contemporary classic, with lines that embody the traditions of fine motor yachting, combining the latest of modern engineering principles with proven construction techniques and materials.

The Jefferson 42 Sundeck is perfect for Loopers, cruising the ICW or the Chesapeake in comfort and style. It also makes a wonderful liveaboard- waterfront property at a value! The main saloon in the 42 Sundeck is spacious and well-appointed with teak parquet floors and a lower steering station; all of the cabinetry is hand-finished teak. Four large hatches in the saloon floor make major engine and machinery service easy, while a door beneath the galley steps allows access for routine inspections without disrupting saloon activities. The opening side windows are tinted safety glass with screens. The Sundeck's master stateroom offers unparalleled luxury, from its queen-sized berth to its sumptuous head replete with marble washbasin, golden faucets, and separate shower with a tub. Storage space has been planned for extended cruising with full-sized drawers, hanging lockers, bureaus, and even a vanity- all in hand-finished teak. The spacious galley-down has lots of working space and storage and has a full-size refrigerator/freezer. The adjacent dinette easily seats four, can convert to a full double berth and is surrounded by more storage. Forward of that is the guest stateroom, with bunk beds as well as another full head with a separate stall shower; that head can be accessed from the cabin or the galley area.

Outside, the full-beam sundeck provides a great living and entertaining area, as well as enclosed access to the flybridge- no need to go outside in bad weather to access the bridge. There's plenty of seating on the flybridge and good visibility from the helm. The side decks are wide and safe, with a side door to the lower helm. The vessel is powered with dependable and efficient twin Cummins diesel engines and cruises at about 12 knots.

"DRAGONFLY" represents a great opportunity for whatever your own dreams hold. Dockside live-aboard condo, cruising in comfort or making longer voyages like doing the Loop. The teak dinette table is inlaid in a starburst pattern, has drop leaves and is height adjustable. This is also removable without damage to the cabin sole.

Aft of the L settee is a large fiddled shelf/counter area.

At the forward side of the space on port is the entertainment center. That has an L-shaped counter with a double door shelved locker and three drawers beneath it. Above that, is the TV with a drawer beneath it, storage on the backside and a fiddled shelf above it.

As you enter the space there are two large hanging lockers to your right with a large fiddled shelf area above them. Continuing aft from the hanging lockers is a dresser unit, with two drawers and double door locker space beneath with a large mirror above it. Across and along the starboard hull side is another hanging double door locker and dresser drawer unit. This dresser unit has two drawers and a single locker beneath it.
