Tea Dance is a 1999 Maxum 4100 SCA. Built between 1997 and 2001, the SCA is Maxum's designation for their 41' aft-cabin motor yacht, and their most popular 41' offering. With two well-appointed staterooms with ensuite heads, Tea Dance is the perfect vessel for two cruising couples or a family, for short or long cruises, day trips or overnights, cruising local waters or the Great Loop, weekends only or living-aboard full time. Tea Dance can do it all.

Both of the engines and transmissions on Tea Dance were removed from the vessel and completely rebuilt in 2019/2020. There are less than 100 hours since the total engine rebuild. The bottom was painted in August, 2019.

1999 Maxum 4100 SCA Walk-Through

As an aft-cabin motor yacht, boarding Tea Dance is via the swim platform from a floating dock and up the curved stairs, or via either mid-ship side entrance from fixed docks and through the Plexiglas wing doors, onto the fully enclosed aft deck. Stairs lead from the aft deck up to the bridge or down to the salon. Full sidewalks lead to the foredeck and bow.

The salon features a settee to starboard, and a dinette to port. The galley is two steps down, to starboard. The guest/day head is across from the galley. The guest stateroom is forward, and has a private entrance into the head. The master stateroom is aft, a few steps down from the salon, to port and features an ensuite split head with the vanity in the stateroom.

The engine room is accessed through hatches in the salon sole.

1999 Maxum 4100 SCA Accommodations


The salon is five steps down from the aft deck on Tea Dance. The sole is carpeted and also covered with a matching area rug with bound edges; the engine room is accessed through the hatches in the sole. An L-shaped settee is to starboard, with full storage beneath the cushions. The large cushions slide open, and the small ones lift off. A brocade hassock is in front of the settee. There are two screened opening windows and wood blinds on the side windows. A double door storage cabinet is on the aft bulkhead; an EPIRB is mounted in the cabinet. Also to starboard: a ship?s bell, an ICOM VHF radio microphone, a wall sconce with a reading light and USB charger, and a Marine Air reverse cycle AC/heat control.

The electrical panel with a smoked Plexiglas door and the battery switches are to port, as are the steps to the master stateroom. The stacked entertainment system features: a Sony tuner, a Magnavox CD player, a DirecTv tuner, and a Polk audio speaker. The flat screen TV is on a lift, hidden in a cabinet across from the settee. Also to port: storage cabinets, Seth Thomas brass barometer and brass clock, and light wood joinery with burlwood tops.

The salon area also has twelve LED lights in the headliner and four stereo speakers. There is 6' 4" of headroom.


The galley on Tea Dance is two steps down from the salon, to starboard. The large front windows allow plenty of natural light. The galley features include: Corian countertops, a double stainless steel sink, a faucet with a sprayer, a Kenyon three burner cooktop, a Goldstar microwave/convection oven, a Vitrifrigo refrigerator/freezer with doors that match the cabinets, LED lighting, a partial carpet/partial "bamboo" flooring sole, and a portlight. Galley storage includes: a large upper corner pantry, a corner shelf, a lower corner cabinet with two sliding doors, two narrow cabinets over the cooktop, a pot drawer under the microwave/convection oven, a storage compartment under the refrigerator/freezer, a double door cabinet under the sink with three sliding wood drawers on the right side. The area under the windows and above the cabinets is also available for storage. There is more than enough headroom in the dinette and galley.


The dinette is to port on Tea Dance, one step down from the salon. It can seat four people, and is the main dining area. The tabletop on the high/low table is Corian; the settee has fabric backs and vinyl seats. The central vacuum system and hoses are located under the forward cushion. There is additional storage on the bulkhead over the table.


The master stateroom on Tea Dance is four steps down from the salon, to port. It features an athwartship queen walk-around berth. There are two portlights behind the berth with wood blinds. A shelf behind the berth features light wood joinery with burlwood tops; there are two reading lights. The aft hatch has wood blinds, and is over a Corian shelf. The sole is carpeted; the headliner and doors are neutral vinyl. Storage is available in the lighted, cedar lined hanging locker forward, in the drawers under the berth, the large double door storage locker with cubbies aft, and the original TV/electronics cabinet which has been converted to storage.

Additional features of the master stateroom include: a JVC stereo control, two stereo speakers, reverse cycle AC/heat, a mounted Element flat screen TV, eleven overhead LED lights, a Xantrex Truecharge 2 control panel, 6' 3" of headroom, and access to the generator.


Tea Dance has a split master head. The vanity is in the master stateroom, with the shower forward and the head aft. The vanity features: a Corian countertop, two lower cabinet doors to access the storage, a large mirrored full-sized medicine cabinet, 6' 1" of headroom, and a towel ring. The shower stall features: a portlight, a shower shelf/seat, a grab bar, three lights, a shower curtain, a towel bar, a door hook, 6' 3" of headroom, and a shower head that can be hand held. The head compartment features: a portlight, a Vacuflush head, three lights, a shelf, a grab bar, a fan, 6' 3" of headroom, and a door hook.


The VIP/guest stateroom on Tea Dance is forward of the galley, one step down. There is a centerline queen berth, a carpeted sole, and portlights with privacy curtains on both sides of the berth, along with reading lights and electrical outlets. A round hatch is located over the berth. The walls and headliner are padded neutral vinyl; the joinery is light wood with burlwood tops. The starboard side of the berth features: one step up, a double door cedar-lined lighted hanging locker, a built-in valet cabinet with an electrical outlet, and storage cubbies. The port side of the berth features: an Element flat screen TV, a built-in valet cabinet, a double door cabinet with shelves, and access to the ensuite head. There is a large drawer as well as a large storage area under the berth. There is 6' 4" of headroom; there are four LED lights in the headliner.


The guest head on Tea Dance can be entered from the door across from the galley, or directly through the door in the VIP/guest stateroom. It features: a Vacuflush head, a scalloped "shell" sink, double doors under the vanity, a mirrored medicine cabinet with three shelves, a round clear Plexiglas shower stall with lights and a shelf, five LED lights, a removable shower head, a grab bar, a towel bar, a door hook, and electrical outlet, an a storage cubby. The inside of the doors are Formica for easy cleaning. The headroom is 6' 4".

1999 Maxum 4100 SCA Deck and Hull

The aft deck can be reached via the curved stairs from the swim platform or through the wide side decks and Plexiglas wing doors on either side. The entire deck is non-skid. There is a hard top, with a full canvas/Eisenglass enclosure. The hard top features a large oval sun roof. The roomy aft deck can accommodate furniture, coolers, and equipment to meet any cruising needs. The wet bar has a Corian countertop. There are storage compartments at the wet bar, and around the inside of the aft deck at deck level. A Vizio flat-screen TV is mounted on the countertop. A door opens to the molded stairs leading to the swim platform. The sliding door leading into the salon has a sliding screen. A Lifesling is on the aft deck.

The swim platform has a swim ladder and a hot/cold transom shower. The Glendinning Cablemaster cord control system is accessible from the swim platform.

The foredeck has an area where a bow pad can be added, with mounted drink cup holders. There are mounted fender racks, and foot pedals for the electric windlass. The foredeck on Tea Dance also features access to the anchor locker and ground tackle and the hidden washdown system.

1999 Maxum 4100 SCA Flybridge

The flybridge on Tea Dance accessed via steps from the aft deck, and is fully enclosed by canvas and Eisenglass for all weather cruising. The helm station has three seats. The burlwood accented helm station is conveniently laid out. A guest bench is situated in front of the helm station. The entire deck is non-skid.
