AURORA, Contract #444, is the fourth to the last Trumpy built and the last one built for John Trumpy himself. She has always carried her original name and is the only houseboat to be built on the highly successful 58' hull which, coupled with her Diamond series Cummins diesels, allows her to display a good turn of speed. Her 2nd owner was the State of Maryland for 5 years, followed by three private owners, inclusive of her present; all have cared for her in first class fashion. The expression "ready to go" is widely used in brokerage listings, but it should be emphasized with AURORA...she truly is ready to go. Those inspecting her will find her in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition, with updated systems, wanting for nothing.

AURORA features John Trumpy's most desirable arrangement plan. Wheelhouse forward, followed by a full beam galley, salon, and aft deck that can be open to the breeze or enclosed and climate controlled. Crew area is forward on the lower level followed by the engine room, guest cabin and head, and finally a full beam master with en-suite head.

Broker Remarks

I was fortunate enough to have the owner invite me to spend a night aboard while I collected information for the listing. The weather was miserable when I arrived in Texas, temps in the 20's and 30's, windy, with a nasty mix of freezing rain and sleet coming down, in fact it was treacherous just trying to navigate up the slight incline of the ice covered wooden ramp from the parking area to the covered boat slip that contained AURORA. As I first walked up to her it was hard not to notice how shiny and clean she was, her varnish was perfect, her chrome and deck hardware the same, I complemented the owner as I stepped aboard and opened the door to the enclosed aft deck where it was toasty warm; the reverse cycle AC obviously doing a fine job. From that point forward my time aboard was nothing less that very comfortable, she is tastefully decorated, superbly clean, everything I used worked as it should, my bunk was extremely comfortable, my morning shower had strong water pressure and plenty of hot water, and there was even a hot cup of coffee waiting for me when I re-entered my cabin. It was 100% obvious to me in the more than 24hrs spent aboard that she has been impeccably maintained, thoughtfully upgraded, and embodies all the attributes one would hope for in a proper yacht. As I stepped off and walked down the dock the next day, suitcase in hand, I paused for a moment, looked back, and uttered a phrase that I heard many times from the owner during my stay, "mighty fine" ...indeed that is just what AURORA is.
