The “Fred Scandrett” is a genuine example of that heritage, a 62 foot single screw steel harbour tug that has spent her entire life right here in Ontario. Launched in 1963 as the “C.E. Ted Smith” for the McFadden Lumber Company, this 62 footer carries a single screw diesel rated at 380 horsepower, a classic steel hull, a forward pilothouse, and a full working aft deck. The traditional harbour tug profile, deep bulwarks, and heavy ground tackle are exactly what you would expect from a vessel built to push and tow on the Great Lakes.
