About Used Tiara Yachts
Tiara Yachts was founded in 1974 in Holland, Michigan, by Leon Slikkers — a boatbuilder who had already founded Slickcraft and would later launch Pursuit Boats, making the Slikkers name one of the most enduring in American boating. Tiara operates under parent company S2 Yachts and has never left family hands: Leon's son Tom Slikkers serves as CEO of S2 Yachts today.
Built in Michigan from the start, Tiara grew into one of the premier American yacht brands, known for a quiet, craftsman-first approach to building. Unlike builders that changed ownership every decade, Tiara's continuity is the story — the same family, the same factory region, the same philosophy of building a notch above the mass market.

Tiara sits in the premium tier of American production boats, a cut above Sea Ray and its mainstream peers in fit, finish, and engineering. The signature trait is build quality you can inspect: solid fiberglass construction, cleanly installed systems, tidy wiring runs, and interiors that wear well over decades — which is why a well-maintained 1990s Tiara Open still commands serious money. Hulls are deep-V inboards (with outboards on the newer Tiara Sport models), tuned for comfortable, confidence-inspiring rides rather than raw speed.
Because the family never chased volume, Tiaras were never the cheapest boats on the dock — and that restraint shows in the used market, where they hold value better than comparable mass-production boats.
