About Used Formula Boats
Formula Boats has been building high-performance sport boats in Decatur, Indiana since 1962. Founded by Don Aronow — the legendary offshore racing champion who also founded Cigarette Racing and Donzi — Formula was built from the ground up on a foundation of performance, quality, and distinctive American styling.
Today, Formula's lineup spans from the 240 Bowrider to the 500 Super Sport Crossover, covering day boats, sport cruisers, and serious offshore performers. Every Formula is hand-laid in fiberglass, with meticulous attention to hull geometry, deck layout, and interior finish. A used Formula is one of the best values in the pre-owned performance boat market.

Formula holds its value well relative to comparable performance boats, particularly in the larger crossover and sport cruiser models. The brand's loyal following and reputation for quality construction support strong resale demand. Smaller bowrider models depreciate more quickly, as is typical in that segment.
The larger Formula models — 400 SSC and above — are well-suited for offshore use in South Florida conditions. The deep-V hull design handles chop and swells effectively, and the twin-engine configurations provide the reliability needed for offshore passages.
